PLAYERS AND CARDS
Chinchón is played with the typical Spanish card deck with 40 cards. The King, Cavalry, and Jack cards are worth 10 points each, and the number cards are worth their face value.

DRAWING
In the beginning of the round each player receives 7 cards, and the remaining cards form the stock and discard piles. Players play in turns. When your turn starts, you should add a card to your hand by choosing the stock or discard pile.

DISCARDING

When drawing cards your goal is making combinations in your hand - sets and sequences. A set is a group of 3 or 4 cards with the same value; for example, three Jack cards. A sequence is a group of 3 or more cards from the same suit ordered by rank; for example, 4-5-7 of coins.

WILDCARD
Here is an example for a set of Jack cards in your hand. You can easily recognize a combination by the color line displayed at the top of the cards in it.
  • You can use the 1 of coins card as a wildcard. It can be used when you need one more card to form a set or sequence. In the example here, it is used as a Jack in a set of Jack cards.
  • After drawing you should select a card to be discarded. Simply choose a card in your hand, and it would move to the discard pile.
  • You can order the cards in your hand by rank or suit using the buttons on the right.
LAYING OFF
Your main goal in Chinchon is forming a hand that can be melded. The player who melds first wins the round.
  • You can meld 6 or 7 cards. When melding 6 cards, the value of the remaining card should be 3 or lower.
  • Here is an example. Your turn starts with two combinations in your hand. Now you notice that the top card in the discard pile can be added to one of your combinations. You choose it, and see how it is added to the corresponding combination.
  • Now, to win the round you should choose the button that shows on the left. When you do this, you would see how the card that is not part of the combinations is discarded, and then the combinations are melded.

Remember - this is the only way to win the round. In this situation there is no need to choose a card from your hand to be discarded, you should only choose the button for melding.

After a player melds, the cards of the other players are melded and laid off where possible.

SCORING
When the round ends all players score points corresponding to the value of the cards remaining in their hands. The winner usually scores the lowest amount of points. In some cases the winner could score a negative number of points.

SESSION SCORE
The session goes on until one of the players reaches the losing score for the session, for example 70 points. When this happens, the player who has the lowest score at this moment wins the session.
