Okey 101 is the newest game on the VIP Okey platform! The game involves 4 people and there are a total of 106 tiles with which you have to create combinations until you reach 101 points. Each player starts with 21 tiles. Only the first player in line has 22 tiles, and his first move is to discard an unnecessary tile to the field above.
At first you have to make combinations to reach 101 points. In addition, each participant has 20 more tiles that they can download from the "+" button to the left of their available tiles. Above the button you will see the number of tiles that you have left for additional drawing. You can also take the tile that was discarded by the player before you.
IMPORTANT! You can only take another player's tile if it is valid for a combination on your board.
Combination options are: up to 4 tiles of the same number and different color, consecutive tiles of the same color from 1 to 13, pairs of tiles of the same color and number. According to your available tiles, the system can automatically order your combinations using some of the following buttons:
- Button "777" - arranges all tiles with the same number but different color
- Button "44" - arranges all pairs of tiles with the same number and color
- "123" button - arranges tiles of one color in order from 1 to 13
IMPORTANT! In the game, you can encounter a Joker tile to use in a combination. It is determined by the tile you see to the right of the "+" button. You also have a Special Tile that can take up space in any combination. It is directly related to the Joker tile and is always the next number in order of the Joker tile. EXAMPLE! If you see a 3 red tile in the field next to the "+" button, then you can use the Joker tiles as 3 red. In this case the Special tile will be 4 red and it is universal for all combinations.
On each valid combination you see the points it gives you. From the number on the top left you see the total number of points you have made from all the combinations on your board. Once they reach 101 or more points, you can press the green button on the right and merge the tiles at the top of the field. There, every player who has reached over 101 points uploads their tiles and you start creating combinations together.
IMPORTANT! There are two options when the game automatically merges your combos:
- If your decision time runs out and there is a valid hand, the system will automatically open that hand.
- When you pick up a tile discarded by another player and create a valid combination, your hand will automatically open.
On the right, you have a field for posting only in pairs. If you collect 5 or more pairs you can match them there.
IMPORTANT! If you first merge pairs, then you cannot merge the combinations of consecutive or identical tiles, but you can add tiles to already loaded combinations. Conversely, if you have melded your combinations, you can only meld a combination of pairs if someone has already melded their pairs at the top right.
You will see a red star on the tile that you can upload up in the common field. It gives you a sign that this tile can be added in some general combination. To bring it up, you need to slide it and place it in the middle of the combination it is suitable for, and it will itself take its place on the left or right of the row.
Unnecessary tiles can be discarded in the field above your personal board or added to the general field above if they are valid for any combination there.
IMPORTANT! If before reaching 101 points, you discard a tile that is valid for a combination on your or the community board, then you receive 101 penalty points. Each wrongly discarded tile accumulates 101 penalty points, i.e. if you make 2 mistakes you will get 202 penalty points. Accumulated penalties will be visible in your total points after you reach 101 points and log your combos.
Once you get your tiles to the top you are left with less tiles to discard and get to 0 points as quickly as possible, so be careful not to accumulate penalty points! The winner is the player who discards all his tiles first!
